A restaurant that reads like a travel journal

At Carnets de Voyage, in Lorgues, every plate turns a new page: France & World fusion cuisine served in a 1780 house, in the heart of the green Provence. You sit down here the way you open a journal — to travel without leaving the Var.

The idea

A name that says it all: Carnets de Voyage

The restaurant lives up to its name. Here, the meal turns like a journal brought back from elsewhere: a stopover with every plate, a travel memory in every flavour. The cooking starts with Provençal produce, then heads for other horizons.

This nomadic table sits in a 1780 house, among the vines of the Côtes de Provence and the hilltop villages of the Var — just minutes from Draguignan. People come as much for the France & World fusion cuisine as for the logbook atmosphere.

On the plate

Every dish, a stopover

We start with Var terroir and the season, then slip in a twist from elsewhere: a spice, a technique, an unexpected pairing. The bearings stay French, the journey lands on the plate — one stopover at a time.

We cook on site and the menu is renewed every week: never the same destination twice. For lovers of the classics, there's always a fine cut from the butcher and homemade fries.

The journal

The pages of a meal at Carnets de Voyage

Like a real travel journal, the meal is made of pages: each with its own flavour, its mood, its detour.

01

First page

Aperitif & tapas

You open the journal over tapas to share, France & World fusion — the meal's first stopover, to pick at among friends.

02

Along the way

The travelling dish

A local product, a twist from elsewhere: the dish changes week by week, like a new destination on every menu.

03

Sweetness

The keepsake dessert

You close the chapter on a generous dessert, between Provençal tradition and a nod from further afield.

04

The setting

A stopover in the garden

Shaded terrace, hidden garden: between courses, the setting extends the journey in the shade of the plane trees.

The mood

A setting with stories to tell

Salvaged objects, travel trunks, figurines brought back from elsewhere: the 1780 house is visited like a cabinet of curiosities. Every corner has its detail, every table its find.

We set the table on plates with patterns from far away, among the plants and the old walls. The setting is part of the journey, as much as the cooking.

Terrace, hidden garden & the softness of the South

In the shade of the patio or the sun of the garden, time slows down. You settle in, you share, you let the Provençal afternoon drift by — the perfect stopover of a travel journal written in the Var.

Your questions

The travel-journal restaurant, made clear

Why is the restaurant called Carnets de Voyage?

Because the meal turns like a journal brought back from elsewhere: France & World fusion cuisine, a setting of salvaged objects and a menu that changes every week, like so many stopovers.

Where is the restaurant?

At 12 avenue Allongue, in Lorgues (83510), in the heart of the green Provence — about fifteen minutes from Draguignan, Les Arcs-sur-Argens and Vidauban.

What kind of cuisine does the restaurant serve?

France & World fusion cuisine: we start with local, seasonal produce, then slip in a twist from elsewhere. We cook on site and the menu is renewed every week.

Does the menu change often?

Every week: that's the travel-journal principle. A new destination at every stopover, while keeping a few classics such as the fine cut from the butcher.

Are there vegetarian options?

On every menu, a vegetarian dish is cooked and thought through in its own right — never a plate by default. Allergens are indicated.

Do I need to book a table?

It's strongly recommended, especially on the terrace and in high season. You can book online in a few clicks.
