The artists of the Var come to our table

In Lorgues, in the heart of the green Provence, our walls turn into a gallery: paintings and creations by Var artists hang in the lounge, changing with the seasons. You dine surrounded by art — and every piece is for sale.

A grassroots scene

A showcase for Var artists, among the vines and villages

The Var is far more than its beaches: the inland countryside is full of painters, illustrators and makers working in the shade of the plane trees. Here, they find a wall, a light and a seated audience.

Hanging at Carnets de Voyage means exhibiting where people take their time: between two courses the eye lingers, a conversation starts, a canvas finds its owner. The art of the green Provence, at table height.

The nest

A whole world around the local artists

This page is the starting point. To see the works on the walls, hunt for treasures in the garden or discover the house that hosts them, follow the thread:

In the lounge

A lounge turned into a living gallery

The lounge walls host works by artists from the region: paintings, drawings and creations that change with the seasons. Nothing is fixed — the hanging evolves, and you rediscover the room on every visit.

You wander from one canvas to the next, glass in hand, and you dine surrounded by art. It's our way of keeping local creativity alive: giving it a warm, busy place where it truly meets people's eyes.

Works to live with

Every canvas has a story — and a price

Fallen for a painting glimpsed above your table? It's most likely for sale. The works on show are sold directly: you talk it over with us, sometimes with the artist, and leave with a piece born in the Var.

Artists, over to you

Good to know

Your questions about local artists at the restaurant

Where can I see the works of the Var's local artists?

In the lounge of Carnets de Voyage, 12 avenue Allongue in Lorgues (83510). The paintings and creations hang in the room where you lunch and dine, in the heart of the green Provence.

Are the exhibited works for sale?

Yes. Every hung piece is offered for direct sale. Fallen for one? Speak to the team: we put you in touch with the artist or complete the purchase on site.

Which artists do you exhibit?

Mostly artists from the Var and the region: painters, illustrators and makers of the green Provence. The hanging changes with the seasons — never two identical visits.

I'm an artist — can I exhibit with you?

Gladly. We regularly welcome new local artists. Write to us via the contact page with a few images of your work and we'll talk it over.

Do I need to book to see the gallery?

The hanging can be viewed freely over a meal. To be sure of a table, especially on the terrace and in season, it's best to book — the perfect chance to wander from one canvas to the next.
