Where we are

Lorgues, the green Provence away from the crowds

Halfway between Draguignan and the Gorges du Verdon, Lorgues unfolds its avenues lined with plane trees, its fountains and its washhouses. Here, you take the time to wander and look up at the ochre facades and Provençal shutters.

A Var village of character, Lorgues lives to the rhythm of its market, its winegrowers and its olive trees. This is inland Provence at its most authentic — lively and full of flavour, without the coastal crowds.

See & do

Three stops to discover Lorgues

01

The Tuesday market

Every Tuesday morning, the heart of the village comes alive: fruit and veg, cheeses, olives, soaps and Provençal fabrics, beneath the plane trees of the main walk.

02

The Saint-Martin collegiate church

Built in the 18th century, it watches over the old town: shaded lanes, vaulted passageways and small squares with fountains.

03

Vines, olives & truffles

Around the village, the Côtes de Provence estates, the olive groves and, come winter, the black truffle — three treasures of the Lorgues terroir.

Wander, lunch, begin again

Between two visits, you linger on the terrace, share a glass of rosé in the shade and watch the village go by. Lorgues isn't meant to be rushed: it's savoured, one page at a time.
